The Serbian national basketball team clinched a silver medal at the Basketball World Cup after being edged out by Germany 83:77 in the championship clash held in Manila, the capital of the Philippines.
This victory marks Germany’s inaugural gold medal in World Cup history, a significant achievement following their bronze medal haul from the 2002 Indianapolis World Cup.
Serbia, as an independent nation, has now secured its second silver medal at the World Cup, bringing its total to 12 medals in the history of the national team.
Serbian basketball sensation Bogdan Bogdanović was named to the World Cup’s All-Star Team, while German player Denis Schröder earned the coveted Most Valuable Player (MVP) title of the championship.
Completing the All-Star line-up alongside them were Anthony Edwards of the USA, Slovenia’s Luka Dončić, and Canadian Shai Gilgeous-Alexander.
