Serbian tennis star Novak Djokovic has been awarded the trophy for the best player on the ATP rankings this year in Turin.
The trophy was presented by Andrea Gaudenzi, President of the Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP).
“This is the pinnacle of the season. Finishing the year as number one is the dream of every tennis player. It’s one of the most challenging feats in our sport. Along with winning a Grand Slam, being number one has been the most important goal for all players for many years. To be able to stand here, I am truly blessed,” Djokovic stated on the occasion.
“I want to thank everyone who has been with me. It’s a team effort. I’m standing here alone, but I can’t wait to celebrate this with them. This is a significant achievement, and I’m very proud of it.”
