The second annual ESG Adria Summit kicked off today in Tivat, Montenegro, under the theme “Act now for a sustainable tomorrow,” drawing over 600 participants from across the region.

Biljana Braithwaite, Executive Director of Sustineri Partners and summit founder, emphasized the focus on sustainable financing, green transitions, and leveraging AI and startups for regional growth. The summit marks a significant expansion and strategic deepening of the ESG initiative across the Adria region.

Federica Mogherini, Rector of the College of Europe, former High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy

President Jakov Milatović highlighted Montenegro’s commitment to sustainable practices and the green transition, aligning with the European Green Deal. He stressed the importance of focusing on long-term sustainable development amid recurring ecological and economic crises, highlighting the conference’s role in reinforcing Montenegro’s position on the sustainability map.

The event is also set to launch significant partnerships and training programs, including a cooperation framework with the Western Balkans 6 Chamber Investment Forum to integrate ESG standards into regional business strategies.

Additionally, an ESG certification program will be initiated in collaboration with several regional academic institutions, underscoring the summit’s role as a catalyst for sustainable economic development in the Adria region.
