In a significant move to streamline and enhance energy trading in the region, Serbia, Slovenia, and Hungary have unified their electric power exchanges.
This collaboration, formalized in Budapest, is aimed at fostering a more integrated and efficient regional electricity market, with the European exchange EPEX SPOT being a key shareholder in the joint venture.
The newly formed ADEX, which will oversee the merged exchanges, is poised to bolster the energy landscape by offering a unified trading platform, advancing the integration of renewable energy sources, and aligning with the broader European energy market goals. This initiative, expected to operationalize by mid-2024, signifies a major step towards regional energy security and cross-border cooperation in the European energy sector.
