Ambassador Pierre Cochard has highlighted the strength of the economic ties between France and Serbia, with trade nearing two billion euros. This statement was made at an event organised by the Serbian Chamber of Commerce (PKS) and “Coface” to mark the 10th anniversary of their collaboration and the “EXCELLENT SME” certificate in Serbia.
“Our trade volume increased by 34.2 percent in 2022 compared to the previous year, now approaching two billion euros,” said Cochard, pointing out that the relationship between the two nations was particularly reinforced by the financial support agreement of 2019, which aims to strengthen economic bonds.
He underscored the significant footprint of French companies in Serbia, with exports increasing year on year. “There are currently 120 French companies operating in Serbia, providing jobs for 12,000 people. Vinci is a prime example of this positive collaboration. It’s vital to encourage small and medium-sized French businesses to increase their operations with Serbia and to be more adventurous with their investments. Our role is to attract these enterprises,” Cochard concluded.
