AstraZeneca, a global leader in healthcare innovation, marked a historic moment with the grand opening of its new office in Belgrade. The event was a celebration of both progress and legacy, as the company also commemorated the 25th anniversary of the merger between Swedish Astra and British Zeneca. This pivotal milestone reshaped the landscape of healthcare worldwide.

The inauguration ceremony, held with great enthusiasm and dedication, brought together esteemed guests, partners, experts, patient association groups, and trade associations. It was a momentous occasion that underscored AstraZeneca’s commitment to Serbia and its patients, as well as its relentless pursuit of improving healthcare outcomes and access to innovative treatments.

During the event, four distinguished speakers shared their insights and vision for the future. Hans Sijbesma, Area Vice President CEE-BA, and Ksenija Purkovic, Balkan Cluster Director at AstraZeneca, highlighted the importance of the new office in Serbia and its role in advancing healthcare solutions. They emphasised AstraZeneca’s commitment to driving positive change and improving patient healthcare access.

Edward Ferguson, UK Ambassador to Serbia, praised AstraZeneca’s investment in Serbia as a testament to the strong partnership between the UK and Serbia. He commended the company’s contributions to healthcare advancement and its positive impact on the local community.
