The President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vučić, received letters of credence from the newly appointed ambassadors of Palestine, Congo, Japan, Cyprus, Bosnia and Herzegovina, the United Kingdom and Angola.

The president’s cabinet issued a statement that Vučić received the credentials of the newly elected ambassador of Palestine Muhammed el-Namur and wished him a successful stay and mandate in Serbia.

The President of Serbia received the credentials of the newly appointed Ambassador of the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Joseph Kalal Mulamba, and welcomed him to Serbia.

The newly appointed Ambassador of Japan, Akira Imamura presented the letter of credence, and conveyed greetings and a personal message from Emperor Naruhito about his desire to promote relations and cooperation between Serbia and Japan. Ambassador Imamura said that Japan continues with the initiative for cooperation with the Western Balkans, which was launched by former Prime Minister Shinzo Abe during his visit to Serbia in 2018.

President Aleksandar Vučić also received the credentials of the newly appointed ambassador of Cyprus, Andreas Fotiou. Vučić also emphasized on this occasion that Serbia highly values ​​the sincere friendship of Cyprus, which defends international law with its positions.

The newly appointed Ambassador of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Aleksandar Vranješ presented his letter of credence to President Vućić who wished ambassador a warm welcome, successful work and a pleasant stay in Serbia.

The President of Serbia received the credentials of the newly elected Ambassador of the Republic of Angola, Emilio de Carvalho Sobrinjo.

Vučić also received the credentials of the newly appointed ambassador of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, Edward Ferguson, and wished him welcome and success in performing his new duties in Belgrade.

The interlocutors assessed that the economic cooperation between Serbia and the UK developed dynamically over the past few years, and expressed their belief that there is room for strengthening the partnership in numerous areas, such as energy, construction, ICT services and joint work on large infrastructure projects, the president’s press office announced.
