“Great Britain is interested in collaborating with Serbia in the fields of digitalization and high technologies,” stated its newly appointed ambassador to Belgrade, Edward Ferguson, who praised Serbia for its excellent projects that the two countries can work together on in the future.
During a meeting with Prime Minister Ana Brnabić, Ferguson highlighted the potential for the United Kingdom’s support in infrastructure projects through the credit mechanism UK Export Finance (UKEF). He mentioned that £470 million has already been utilized from this mechanism to support the realization of the Morava Corridor.
Ferguson also congratulated Serbia on winning the hosting rights for the International World Expo EXPO 2027 in Belgrade.
Prime Minister Brnabić welcomed the ambassador and expressed hope for strengthening comprehensive cooperation between Belgrade and London during his tenure, as well as further intensifying dialogue between the two sides.
Both parties acknowledged the dynamic development of economic cooperation between the two countries in recent years.
