The American-Slovenian Club (ASC), a novel initiative aimed at guiding businesses into the North American markets of the USA, Canada, and Mexico, has recently been established in Washington D.C.
Ambassador Iztok Mirošič, representing Slovenia in the United States, conveyed to the Slovenian Press Agency the keen interest Slovenian businesses have shown in expanding into North America. He emphasized the considerable advantages of a presence in the American market, while acknowledging the challenges of market entry. Mirošič also highlighted the Slovenian embassy’s support for this unique private club in the capital.
The brainchild behind the ASC is Saša Mrak Hendrickson, the ex-chief of the Slovenian Manager Association, who will also oversee the club’s activities. The Slovenian embassy will generously provide a space for the club’s gatherings and functions.
The club’s foundation is supported by a group of prominent individuals including Bojan Škoda, Alenka Zavašnik, Dejan Spasovski, Matic Vizjak, Mihael Cigler, Tina Slabe, and Urša Magajne Prepeluh. This initiative marks a strategic effort to enhance bilateral business ties and eases the path for Slovenian firms venturing into the lucrative North American market.
