After a 400-year absence, the Waldrapp Ibis, a migratory bird known to inhabit arid, semi-desert, and rocky terrains, has been spotted once more in Slovenia’s Cerknica plain. 

A local photographer captured this rare species on camera. 

Once more widespread across the Middle East, North Africa, and the Alpine regions, this endangered bird now primarily resides in Morocco, Turkey, and Syria.
