“Foreign exchange inflow from tourism in Serbia in 2021 amounts to one billion and 596 million euros, which exceeds the most successful 2019 so far with an inflow of 1.4 billion euros,” said Tatjana Matić, Minister of Trade, Tourism and Telecommunications in the Government of Serbia.
She pointed out that the breaking of the record was primarily due to domestic tourists, who were the most numerous, but a significant influx was achieved thanks to foreign tourists who recognized Serbia as an attractive destination.
As Matić stated, these data encourage and inspire optimism that 2022 will be even more successful and that Serbia will continue with the good results.
The Minister emphasized that the tourism sector has once again shown great potential for development.
These statements are supported by the report of the National Bank of Serbia, according to which the foreign exchange inflow from tourism increased by 47.2 percent last year, expressed in euros, and in relation to 2020.
