Post of Serbia and the Nikola Tesla Museum in Belgrade presented an issue of commemorative postage stamps entitled Nikola Tesla – the Brilliant Mind of the Serbian People at the museum.

The issue, prepared in honour of one of the world’s most important scientists of Serbian origin, was presented by acting director of Post of Serbia Zoran Đorđević and Acting Director of the Nikola Tesla Museum Ivona Jevtić, Post of Serbia announced.

“Commemorative postage stamps in honour and celebration of the scientific genius, who always proudly pointed out his Serbian roots, underline the deep connection, loyalty, gratitude and pride of the Serbian people towards Nikola Tesla. They celebrate his life and work, all the achievements of his brilliant mind and incredible contribution to the global progress of mankind. Tesla’s personality has always attracted attention, and his achievements have made stamps with his image and patents stir up great interest among collectors around the world”, said Đorđević.

He also pointed out that through philatelic activity Post of Serbia, “continuously promotes national heroes and deserving compatriots in various fields, but also the most universal values represented by Nikola Tesla”.

The philatelic issue released into circulation consists of two commemorative postage stamps in sheets of eight stamps with vignettes in the middle, a First Day Cover and a commemorative seal.

The issue was prepared in cooperation with the Nikola Tesla Museum, while the artistic design is the work of Boban Savić, creator of stamps and securities at Post of Serbia.
