King Charles III hosted a reception at Buckingham Palace for world leaders who attended the funeral of the Queen Elizabeth II, including heads of state, prime ministers and members of the royal family.

US President Joe Biden and First Lady Jill Biden arrived in the presidential motorcade and joined the approximately 500 guests in the palace’s main rooms.

Between 200 and 250 world leaders received invitations, most of whom brought their spouses, including French President Emmanuel Macron, who was joined by the first lady of France, Brigitte Macron.

In addition to members of the British royal family, the reception was attended by members of other royal families, as well as heads of Commonwealth countries.

Representatives of Syria, Venezuela and Afghanistan were not invited because Great Britain does not have full diplomatic relations with these countries. Also, not invited were representatives from Russia, Belarus and Myanmar.
