The Embassy of Japan in Belgrade and Japan Tobacco International a.d. organised the ceremonial awarding of Sakura scholarships at the Embassy of Japan.
Guests were welcomed by H.E. Juichi Takahara, Ambassador of Japan to the Republic of Serbia, and Chris Woods, General Manager of JTI.
This is the fifth competition for Sakura scholarships and sees the top five candidates write research papers in the fields of culture, politics, law, economics and management in Japan.
The aim of the scholarship programme is to promote studies of Japanese society and culture, as well as strengthening already friendly relations between Japan and Serbia.
