The Embassy of Japan in Belgrade held a ceremonial reception to celebrate the birthday of the Emperor of Japan, Naruhito, at the Metropol Hotel in Belgrade.
On this occasion, Ambassador of Japan to Serbia, Akira Imamura, conveyed the Emperor’s congratulations to President Aleksandar Vučić on the Statehood Day.
“On the occasion of this year’s Statehood Day of Serbia, His Majesty has sent congratulations and good wishes to President Vučić for the prosperity of the Serbian people,” said Imamura.
He emphasized that the friendship between Japan and Serbia dates back to 1882 when the great-grandfather of His Majesty, Emperor Meiji, and King Milan Obrenović exchanged letters, establishing the first official contact.
