The French Embassy and the French Institute in Serbia are organising an event called Rhythm of French Culture.

This year, as Paris hosts the Olympic Games, the French Institute in Serbia and the embassy of that country will present, together with their longstanding partners, a rich cultural season featuring programmes in music, film, theatre, literature, visual arts, and sport, the Institute announced.

This cultural season, named Rhythm of French Culture, aims to promote, as is the case at the Olympic Games, various disciplines of French culture and art. The rhythm of the season will be set by music from the famed French composer Gabriel Fauré, whose centenary of death is marked this year.

The French Ambassador Pierre Cochard expressed his delight at being able to announce the new French cultural season, which builds on last year’s, during which France was the guest of honour at the Belgrade Book Fair.

“This year is very significant for us because the Olympic and Paralympic Games are taking place in Paris and in honour of this event, we wanted to highlight sports, culture, and science in our Rhythm of French Culture, where the relations between France and Serbia are very strong,” Cochard stated at a press conference at the French Embassy.

The first event will be held on 18 April, when the exhibition “Science for Medals”, dedicated to the science behind developing sports performance, opens at the French Institute. The Rhythm of French Culture will be part of the French Film Festival, the Festival of Auteur Film, the October Salon, BITEF, NOMUS, BEMUS, the Belgrade Jazz Festival, Nišville, Arsenal Fest…
