Carlsberg Serbia has donated five million dinars to some of Serbia’s leading healthcare institutions to help curb the COVID-19 epidemic

Clinical Hospital Centers “Zvezdara” and “Zemun” each received the funds worth 2.5 million dinars for the purchase of necessary medical equipment.

“The situation we are in presents a great challenge for the whole society and that is why it is important that we all stand together in solidarity and work together through this time. We look forward to the days when we will be able to socialise again, but now is the time to stay home and thus save our own and also lives of others,” it was said in a statement from Carlsberg Serbia.

To remind, in mid-March, the Carlsberg Foundation raised more than $ 13.8 million to help combat the global pandemic. In order to strengthen local health capacities, Carlsberg Serbia recently donated masks and disinfectants to the Health Center in Bačka Palanka, located near the Carlsberg’s brewery.

Since the outbreak of the coronavirus epidemic in Serbia, Carlsberg has adopted a number of stringent measures to protect employees’ health and safety at work. The company provided for all positions where possible with working conditions from home, while from mid-April, at the height of the epidemic, most of the production operations at the brewery in Čelarevo were suspended. For employees whose arrival is necessary in order to maintain a minimal work process, all precautionary measures are taken, such as the mandatory wearing of protective equipment, temperature measurement and regular disinfection of all work surfaces and rooms.

Faced with a health crisis unlike any other before, Carlsberg Serbia appeals to all citizens, including its employees, customers and consumers, to work together in solidarity.
