H.E. Christophe Lecourtier assumed his position as Ambassador of France to Australia in July 2014. Prior to arriving in Canberra, he was the CEO of Ubifrance (French Agency for International Business Development), before which he served as Chief of staff and Special Advisor to Christine Lagarde.
Ambassador Lecourtier has developed a long career working for the French Ministry of Economy, Finances and Industry, where he was an advisor in charge of international economic relations. He has extensive experience in the field of international economic relations, having served as Chief of staff of the Minister for Trade and the Minister for Economy, Finances and Industry.
H.E. Lecourtier has also held the position of First Assistant Secretary in charge of Continental Asia at the Division of External Economic Relations of the French Ministry of Economy, Finance and Industry, as well as serving in the Prime Minister’s office, responsible for External Relations of the EU.
Ambassador Christophe Lecourtier is a graduate of the National School of Administration and the Ecole Normale Supérieure and holds a degree in political studies. He has received the Legion of Honour and The National Order of Merit, both in the rank of Knight.
