Born in 1981, Aleksandar Vranješ completed his BA in Communication Sciences at Banja Luka College of Communications from 2001-’05, before beginning his postgraduate studies at the University of Belgrade Faculty of Political Science in 2005, earning his M.Phil. in 2008 and his Ph.D. in 2017.
Taking on the role of teaching associate at the University of Banja Luka Faculty of Philosophy in 2008-’09, he served at the same institution as a Senior Teaching Assistant of Political Communication from 2009-’18, before being appointed its Vice-Dean for Education (2010-’14), Vice-Dean for Scientific Research (2018-’19) and Assistant Professor of Political Communication (2018-present).
Away from academia, he served as Political Affairs Advisor to the Office of the President of Republika Srpska from 2013-’18. Prior to his recent arrival in Belgrade to take on the role of ambassador, he served, from 2019 to 2023, as Ambassador of Bosnia and Herzegovina to Croatia.
