Companies from Serbia that presented their export offer at the recently held International Food Industry Fair “Gulfood” in Dubai had almost 2,000 meetings with potential customers, and according to initial analyses, they expect new business worth as much as 10 million euros.

As announced by the Serbian Chamber of Commerce (PKS), for most food producers from Serbia, in addition to traditional export markets, there is an opportunity for new business arrangements with the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Qatar, African countries, the USA, Canada and other distant markets.

“Visitors to the Gulfood fair, as well as potential business partners, had the opportunity to get acquainted with a wide range of the highest quality Serbian products, starting from fresh and processed, frozen, pasteurized and canned fruits and vegetables, through products based on truffles, ajvar, honey, soups, spices , teas, fruit juices, jams and marmalades to a wide range of sweets and healthy snacks”, says Jovanka Ćalina, head of the Trade Fair Center of the Serbian Chamber of Commerce (PKS).

According to her, our businessmen held a series of important meetings with large fruit distributors in the UAE and Gulf countries, as well as with representatives of trade chains.

At the “Gulfood” fair, 25 companies from Serbia, from the food sector, organized by PKS and the Development Agency of Serbia (RAS), presented their products in one of the main halls of the Trade Center Arena/World Food, reserved for national pavilions.

At the National Pavilion of Serbia, the export offer was promoted by: Master Fruits, Belgrade; ITN Group, Zemun; PIK Becej; Sirogojno Company; Strela Group, Kljajic; Master Food, Uzice; Laki, Arilje; Don Don, Belgrade; The Fun&Fit Company, Zemun; NS Bomi, Obrenovac; Packom International, Leštane; Minella, Batocina; Tartufi SR, Belgrade; Nisha, Belgrade; Yumis, Nis; Agranela, Valjevo; Cold Pressok, Belgrade; Budimka, Požega; Fruct Company, Widows; Jaffa Red; Hi Organik, Selenča; Our honey, Racha; as well as the Belgrade companies Damar Confit, Revita and Adore Chocolat.

This year’s 28th edition of the “Gulfood” fair exceeded all expectations, notes PKS. More than 5,000 exhibitors from 128 countries, of which 20,000 are global brands, and as many as 49 percent are new exhibitors, presented their products in 24 halls on over one million square meters and attracted the attention of more than 100,000 visitors, buyers, importers, distributors and retail chains that had the opportunity during the five-day duration of the fair to meet the leading suppliers of food and beverages in the world.
