The Slovenian Business Club (SPK) and the Embassy of the Republic of Slovenia in Serbia, organised a panel discussion on the topic “Industry 4.0 Slovenia-Serbia Digital Transformation of the Economy”, within the 62nd International Fair of Techniques and Technological Achievements in Belgrade.

Danijela Fišakov, SPK President and Goran Križ, Economic Adviser at the Slovenian Embassy opened the panel discussion.

This year’s participants were representatives of successful companies operating in Serbia – Miodrag Stojković, Eti B Director, Dragan Boćanin, Tehnoplast Director, Simon Smolnikar, Sales Manager at RLS Measurement Technique, Saska Aranđelović, Project Leader in Resalta, Goran Tomović, IT Manager at Grah Automotive and Nemanja Lazić, Business Development Director and member of the Serbian Blockchain Initiative Advisory Board.

The panel itself discussed whether the state is following the economy and trends of the Industry 4.0, as well as Serbia’s potential to become an exporter of software solutions and technically demanding products. Panellists also talked about the fact that we are all active participants in the digital transformation of the economy and how people in companies are accepting new technologies, in this case, Industry 4.0. On the agenda of the panel, there was also a topic on the application of Blockchain technology and the potential this technology brings to the economy. Panellists from Slovenia shared their experiences, expectations and trends, the potentials of economic cooperation between the two countries.

The conclusion of this year’s panel is that it is necessary to enter the process of digitisation, but also that it is possible only step by step, that is, it is a long process to complete digitisation of one company.

After the completion of the panel, a cocktail was held where the guests had the opportunity to speak directly to the panellists and organisers of the event.
