As part of the “SMART Trio” discussions organised by AmCham, Belgrade’s Startit Centre hosted talks on the topic of “excellence” on 9th November, which included the participations of AmCham Management Board First Vice President and CEO of Philip Morris International for Southeast Europe, Jelena Pavlović, Director of the Mathematical High School in Belgrade, Srđan Ognjanović, and Serbia Country Director for company Symphony, Ivan Dragošan.
Those in attendance, welcomed by Executive Director Of AmCham Vera Nikolić Dimić, had the opportunity to hear what excellence means to the speakers, in the context of both their personal and professional lives.
Pavlović explained that excellence is at the basis of all progress, in business and life in general, and added that it is composed of a synergy of talent, creativity and dedicated work.
Dragošan also spoke about excellence in business, pointing out that talent and excellence are very important criteria when selecting personnel, and noting the huge number of exceptional individuals in the Balkans.
Ognjanović was also in agreement, turning to his experience of working with brilliant young people, illustrating excellence through his students’ successes and recognition.
Following its successful “SMART Talk” series of events, AmCham launched “SMART Trio” as a format that sees important and inspiring topics and values discussed by prominent members of the academic and business communities, as well as significant personalities from the spheres of culture, education, the arts and sport.
