The First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia, Ivica Dačić, received in a farewell visit Ambassador of the Sovereign Military Order of Malta in Belgrade, Alberto di Luca.
Minister Dačić expressed gratitude to Ambassador di Luca for his thirteen years of successful service in Belgrade, particularly acknowledging his humanitarian initiatives aimed at assisting the most vulnerable in Serbia.
He pointed out that the friendly relations between the two sides have been nurtured for centuries, emphasizing that Serbia does not forget that the Sovereign Military Order of Malta donated a medical train with 10 wagons to the Kingdom of Serbia in 1885.
Ambassador Alberto Di Luka, with a sense of melancholy, bid farewell to the Republic of Serbia and his role as the Ambassador of the Sovereign Military Order of Malta in Belgrade. He praised Serbia as a wonderful country with exceptional people, expressing pride in the strong friendship between the Sovereign Military Order of Malta and Serbia.
In recognition of outstanding contributions, Ambassador di Luca presented the Cross Pro Merito Melitensi to Miloš Čavić, Chief of the Department for Neighboring Countries and Southeast Europe. The award, bestowed by Grand Master John Dunlap, acknowledged Čavić’s efforts in resolving a longstanding postal agreement between the Republic of Serbia and the Sovereign Military Order of Malta.
