The prestigious Kopaonik Business Forum, now in its 31st year, commenced on the Serbian ski resort of Kopaonik, with a spotlight on “The New Global Context: Challenges of an Uncertain Future”. The forum, set to run until 6th March, boasts over 200 speakers and anticipates participation from around 1,500 attendees.
Spanning four days, the agenda includes three plenary sessions, addresses by four special guests, and 33 panels, making it a hub for critical economic discussions. The event was inaugurated with a panel focused on the economic outlook for the Western Balkans, led by former Finance Minister Dušan Vujović, and featured insights from representatives of the World Bank, the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), and the International Monetary Fund (IMF).
The official opening on Monday will be presided over by Aleksandar Vlahović, President of the Serbian Association of Economists. The following days will see a diverse roster of economists, professors, business leaders, and government officials take the stage, with a special highlight on Jeffrey Sachs, the renowned economist and former advisor to the last Yugoslav Prime Minister, Ante Marković, signalling the forum’s significance as a confluence of expert economic thought amid global challenges.
