This year, as every year, the Slovenian Business Club (SBC) organised its celebration in Belgrade marking “Martinovanje”, the Feast of St. Martin, at Velika Skadarlija Restaurant.

This traditional Slovenian holiday is dedicated to young wine and is the most popular of all wine-related holidays in Slovenia.

Numerous guests attended Martinovanje in Belgrade, which included a cultural and entertainment programme and a rich gastronomic offer. Among those in attendance were Bled Mayor Janez Fajfar, Slovenian Ambassador to Serbia Vladimir Gašparič, representatives of the tourist organisations of Serbia and Slovenia, as well as Slovenian Business Club members and business partners.

This year the SBC opted to highlight Bled as one of the most beautiful and attractive destinations in Slovenia. Lake Bled, Bled Castle, Bled’s cremeschnitte “kremna rezina” cream cake – these represent just part of the beauty and authenticity with which Bled was presented. “Christening the Must (mošt)” with raised glasses marked the start of an entertaining evening.

Culinary specialities that are traditionally prepared in Slovenia for major holidays, a wide selection of wines from the Malnarič Wine Cellar, the joyful sounds of Slovenian/Serbian music and very interesting contests for prizes added to the evening, an evening during which all guests, at least for a short while, felt the spirit of Bled and Slovenia as “healthy, active and green”.
