With the exception of official photos of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge holding hands as they climbed to Tiger’s Nest Monastery in Bhutan, there are few images of them being physically affectionate.

Since then, Kate and Will have kept public displays of affection (PDA) to a minimum.

The couple is still young, in love and clearly have a great time together. Then again, they are Royal – so they live by a different set of rules to us mere mortals.

Interestingly, should Kate and Will feel the urge to hold hands, there are no rules which say they can’t do so when on public engagements.

“There is no actual etiquette or royal protocol that says the couple must refrain from PDA. The likely reasoning is more that while travelling on a tour, technically the couple is working representatives of the British Monarchy,“ said Myka Meier, the founder of Beaumont Etiquette.
