At the 39th Balkan Mathematical Olympiad now being held in Cyprus, the Serbian team has won six medals – one silver and five bronze.

All students are from the Mathematical Gymnasium in Belgrade. Student Mateja Vukelić won a silver medal, while students Gvozden Lapčević, Novak Stijepić, Igor Engi, Vasilije Ivanović and Vukašin Pantelić each won a bronze medal.

A total of 57 students from ten countries in the region participated in the official competition, while in the unofficial competition another 36 students from six countries participated as guest competitors.
