At the opening of the 41st International Tourism Fair in Belgrade, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Trade, Tourism and Telecommunications Rasim Ljajić pointed out that Serbia made a foreign exchange inflow of $1.5 billion from tourism in 2018

Minister Ljajić said that 2018 was a record year of successful tourism, with a target of $1.7 billion for this year.

The Deputy Prime Minister emphasised that the results achieved in tourism in Serbia are not a coincidence and that for the first time we had an equal number of foreign and domestic tourists last year.

Tourism Minister of Bulgaria Nikolina Angelkova, whose country is a partner of the Tourism Fair this year, said that tourism is an excellent opportunity for business cooperation between the countries and the development of the economies.

Bulgaria and Serbia are friendly countries and strategic partners, Angelkova said, expressing appreciation to the government of Serbia for its commitment to improving the common tourism product and its promotion.

H.E. Minister Ahmed Abdallah, Governor of the Red Sea, Head of Egyptian Tourism Delegation and Hon. Dr Karim Darweesh, Chairman of the Egypt Foreign Affairs Committee, Head of Egyptian Parliamentary Delegation also attended the opening. Next year Egypt will be the partner country of the International Tourism Fair.

The international character of the event, which attracts more exhibitors every year from all parts of the world, the International Tourism Fair, this year had more than 250 foreign participants from 43 countries. 

The tourism fair will last until 24 February at the Belgrade Fair.
