On Saturday 17 July, Japanese Business Alliance in Serbia organized a summer gathering in Sakura Park in New Belgrade.

Introducing the specialties of Japanese gastronomy, Mr. Otsuka, chef of Japanese Embassy, prepared the famous Japanese Yakitori. This was also the first time ever that he cooked at an event for the public in Serbia.

“Apart from connecting businesses between Japan and Serbia, JBAS also actively promotes Japanese culture in our country, of which gastronomy is an integral and important part. We are grateful to H.E. Takahiko Katsumata, Ambassador of Japan to Serbia, and the Embassy staff who made this extraordinary culinary experience possible,” stated Goran Pekez, President of Japanese Business Alliance in Serbia.

This has also been the first presentation of Japan in the recently opened Sakura Park in New Belgrade, a unique area where Japanese cherry trees in the form of Olympic rings, donated to the City of Belgrade by JBAS members, are planted to mark the eternal friendship between the two countries.
