Jewish Center Chabad Serbia celebrated Hanukka at the Hilton Hotel in Belgrade, with many guests in attendance.

The ceremony was attended by Ambassador of Israel H.E. Alona Fischer-Kamm, Minister of the Government of the Republic of Serbia Nenad Popović, representatives of the Jewish community and numerous guests.

Ambassador of Israel, recalling the symbolism of Hanukkah, said that Hannukkah carries a universal message close to all people, the victory of good over evil and light over darkness.

Yoshousu Kaminecki, Chabad Serbia Rabbi, said that the message of the Jewish holiday of light is for people to light up their environment and give light to others.

“Giving is the taste of life – the more we give, the more we take for ourselves, and by doing so we make the world a better place,” Kaminecki said.
