A Reception Dinner was hosted by Ambassador of India to Serbia H.E. Subrata Bhattacharjee to celebrate ‘‘Diwali – Festival of Lights”.

Speaking on the significance of Diwali, Ambassador Bhattacharjee highlighted the similarities between the culture of India and Serbia. He pointed out that Diwali also signifies the victory of the good over the evil, and underlined the need for continuing this battle, particularly against the menace of terrorism.


The event, held at the Ambassadorial Residence, was attended by senior officials of Serbian Government, friends of India, members of the diplomatic community, prominent representatives from business, media and other fields.

There was also a performance of Indian classical dances by a group of Serbian dancers.
