In the struggle against coronavirus, Telenor Foundation has donated 50 thousand EUR to UNICEF for the procurement of protective equipment necessary for healthcare professionals and hygiene packages for 1,300 most vulnerable families all over the country

Right now there is a need for protective equipment – face masks, clothing, goggles and gloves so that healthcare workers can perform their duties, which is also one of the priorities of the Ministry of Health.

With this donation, Telenor Foundation helped procure equipment for 100 healthcare workers for one month and the delivery is planned for the first half of April. Also, 1,300 packages, containing all the necessary items for personal and home hygiene, will be delivered to the most vulnerable families with children.

As a socially responsible company and one of UNICEF‘s long-term partners, Telenor is readily helping procure all the necessities that can help fight the epidemic. Activities and resources are directed to supporting the Government of the Republic of Serbia and for all needs during the state of emergency.

Apart from donations, Telenor is supporting the community, within its core business. As a support to organising online classes, Telenor has enabled free access to content for remote learning and platforms for browsing video contents, such as rtsplaneta.rs, spektar.tv, etc. The Institute for Mental Health will be secured with phones for the psychological helplines, while 20 mobile phones and numbers will be given to the self-government of the city of Čačak for use in the volunteer centres.

Telenor sees its key role and responsibility in connecting people, organisations, companies, health professionals and Government bodies and is committed to keeping all citizens of Serbia connected and providing them with all the telecommunication services they need the most.
