Canadian educational program for entrepreneurs, LEADER project Serbia 2019 from the Richard Ivey School of Business of the University of Western Ontario, one of the best business schools globally, was officially opened on Monday, May 6, 2019. The program is held in Belgrade for the fourth year in a row and is organised by the CANSEE Canadian Serbian Business Association in cooperation with the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Serbia and the Embassy of Canada to Serbia, North Macedonia and Montenegro.


Mirjana Dončić Beaton, Managing Director of CANSEE, said that the Canadian LEADER project is an international educational program which had been realized in eight countries worldwide since 1991. The course focuses on acquiring the necessary skills and knowledge important for entrepreneurship development. In the period of two weeks, participating future and current entrepreneurs will be provided with the analytical tools, thought processes, and decision-making skills to tackle complex business challenges. The program has the form of MBA program-styled workshops, specially prepared according to the attendees’ profile in order to enable them to develop their own business ideas. 40 amazing participants will have the opportunity to present their business idea in front of expert jury members.

Ambassador of Canada to Serbia, Macedonia and Montenegro H.E. Kati Csaba welcomed all the participants, wished them a lot of success in the project, as well as in developing business ideas and establishing their own businesses.

Ms Branka Pudrlja Durbaba, CMO and Senior Market Director at Vip Mobile, said that Vip Company is pleased to be able to support this event and emphasised the importance of supporting young leaders and entrepreneurial spirit.

Mirjana Kovačević, Head of Educational and Vocational Training Centre, Serbian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, said that she is delighted that the Chamber of Commerce has been supporting the fourth LEADER project Serbia in cooperation with CANSEE.

Partners at the LEADER project Serbia 2019 are Ivey Business School from the University of Western Ontario, Canada, Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Serbia, the Embassy of Canada to Serbia, Macedonia and Montenegro. Platinum sponsor of the event is Vip mobile company while the gold sponsor is Medgold. The project is also supported by Rudnik and Contango, Delta Holding, Dundee Precious Metals, Greentech, Holiday Inn Express Belgrade – City, Mundoro and Teknox group in partnership with Naled, Association for Female Affirmation – AFA, ICT Hub, Nova Iskra, eKapija, Division Visual Solutions, and Apollo digitalna štampa.
