The Trag Foundation awarded the VIRTUS Award for Philanthropy to companies, SMEs and individuals who supported non-profit activities or organisations for the common good and interests in the most appropriate, most long-term and most effective ways during 2016.
The awards were presented to winners by Serbian State Administration and Local Self-Government Minister Ana Brnabić, U.S. Ambassador to Serbia H.E. Kyle Scott, and Oscar Benedict, Deputy Head of the EU Delegation to Serbia.
The recipient of the Main Award for contributions at the national level is company Hemofarm. The award for contributions to the local community in which companies operate went to KPMG, while the award for long-term partnerships between the business and non-profit sectors was presented to Telekom Serbia. Niš-based company Yunis won the award in the category of small and medium-sized enterprises, while the award for individual contributions to philanthropy went to Hido Muratović, a benefactor from Novi Pazar.
The winners of special awards included Ljiljana Nedeljković, president and founder of the “Višnja” Women’s Association, ERSTE Bank and Ringier Axel Springer.
