Prime Minister Ana Brnabic and wife of the President of the Republic Tamara Vucic hosted a festive cocktail reception tonight in Paris on the occasion of Belgrade’s candidacy for the “EXPO 2027” exhibition.

In a statement to Tanjug agency, Brnabic praised the Serbian delegation that today, at the 171st General Assembly of the International Bureau of Exhibitions (BIE), presented Serbia to about 185 countries of the world, assessing that our country has done a lot in the last few years and that it is ready to one such manifestation is organized in its capital.

The Prime Minister expressed satisfaction with the positive reaction of a large number of attendees to the presentation of Belgrade’s candidacy.

If we win, we will bring the world exhibition not only to Belgrade and Serbia, but also to the Balkans, said the Prime Minister, noting that it would be the first time that the world exhibition is held in our region, and that Belgrade has great support from countries in the region.

She assessed that Belgrade is a city that has completely new things to offer, primarily in terms of inventiveness, creative spirit, creative industries and a huge number of excellent world artists.

Belgrade is located in the Balkans, which in itself is unique, beautiful and extremely interesting in every way, she noted.

Brnabic said that all the potentials of Belgrade and Serbia were presented at the cocktail, including some of our best artists, actors, sculptors, painters and musicians.

Vucic pointed out that Serbia, above all, is characterised by the hospitality of its people and that we could make a brand out of that characteristic.

“EXPO” is a great platform for the promotion of our country, she said.

The ceremony began with the performance of Serbian violinist Stefan Milenkovic, after which Tamara Vucic and Ana Brnabic greeted the guests.

The cocktail party was attended by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance Sinisa Mali, Minister of Education Branko Ruzic, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Culture Maja Gojkovic and other guests from the Serbian delegation.

Also, the guests of honour at the ceremony were representatives of the International Bureau for Exhibitions.
