Deputy Prime Minister of Serbia and Minister of Finance Siniša Mali said in Paris, after the end of the 171st General Assembly of the International Bureau of Exhibitions, where the official presentation of the city of Belgrade for EXPO 2027 was held, that Serbia is ready to organize that event.

Mali, in a press statement after the session, explained that the plan is to build the National Stadium and a new fair complex next to it for this specialized exhibition, with financial resources already secured for those projects.

He announced that by the end of the week he will sign the contract for the start of infrastructure works for both buildings, stating that the world’s best architects are working on these projects.

The Deputy Prime Minister stated that, if Serbia were to win the candidacy, it would become the host for more than 150 countries participating in the event, which would be the crown of everything that has been worked on in the last ten years in the country.

Mali mentioned that Serbia is in competition for the EXPO with Argentina, Spain, the USA and Thailand, and that after the candidacy is completed, lobbying for our country will continue until June 2023, when the results will be announced.
