Czech Prime Minister Petr Fijala says that any direct NATO involvement in the conflict in Ukraine would mean the Third World War, and no one in NATO is considering such a risky gamble.
“When we see those scenes, everyone asks themselves whether we should somehow intervene, but we have to understand what such a step would mean. That’s World War III. Nobody is really considering it, but we have to think it over”, said Prime Minister Fijala to the Czech TV channel CNN Prima.
The Czech Prime Minister said that establishing a no-fly zone over Ukraine, as repeatedly requested by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, would mean fighting, that is, going to war with Russia.
“NATO is a defence alliance and the further dimension of world war must be considered extremely responsibly. The result is – we help Ukraine as much as possible, including military aid, but to enter directly into the conflict would be a gamble”, concluded Fijala.
