The focus of more than 270 businessmen from around  140 companies from agricultural and food production industry, participating in the 8th Thematic “Agriculture and Food” Week at the World Exibition Show “Expo 2020 Dubai”, will be to connect with foreign partners, learn about innovation and international trends in the sector, says Aleksandar Bogunović, Secretary of the Association for Plant Production and Food Industry of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Serbia.

On the occasion of National Day, February 15, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Serbia in cooperation with the Development Agency of Serbia, the Government of Serbia and the Expo team Serbia, organized a special business program at several Expo locations, which includes investment conference, business forums, B2B meetings, with the goal of providing businessmen with new jobs, and present Serbia as a strong investment destination.

Business people from Serbia will have business forums with businessmen from Slovenia, Poland, Malta, Lebanon, Lithuania, Mexico, Australia, Malaysia, Egypt, as well as many other countries. Also, a special event will be organized to present Serbian wineries and distilleries to distribution chains representatives of  United Arab Emirates, but also from the entire Middle East.

The United Arab Emirates import more than 80 percent of its food products and is a link with the countries of the entire MEASA region – the Middle East, Africa and South Asia, which opens up great opportunities for Serbian producers. The fact that some of our companies have been operating successfully on the UAE market for years, confirms that we have the capacity to meet the standards and be competitive in that market, Bogunović pointed out. According to him, the Emirates is a market for both large and small companies, confirmed by the successful exports companies such as  PIK Becej, Master Fruits, Cope, Jaffa, Apple World, as well as many other small and medium enterprises.
