At the foundation stone laying ceremony for the construction of the Japanese electric motor company “NIDEC” in Novi Sad, Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic stated that such investments essentially change the country’s position and strengthen the Serbian economy.
“We believe that NIDEC, with 1,000 employees and in cooperation with the University of Novi Sad, will produce quality engines in terms of technology, energy efficiency and environmental protection”, said Takahiko Katsumata, Ambassador of Japan in Serbia.
NIDEC Corporation President/CEO Jun Seki stated “NIDEC company sells more than three billion engines a year, it will continue to grow in the future and that is why we want to expand both in Serbia and on the European market”.
The Japanese giant operates in 40 countries, has 340 companies that employ over 120,000 people. NIDEC will build two facilities in Serbia, the NIDEC Electric Motor Serbia factory and the NIDEC Elesys Europe center.
