On the occasion, Red Cross Serbia Director Dragan Radovanović said that, in 2015, the Red Cross helped over 1.5 million people in Serbia.

Also in 2015, Serbia had 21 natural disasters with 15,335 families (around 60,000 people) seeking help from Red Cross as a result of it.

“In May last year, the Red Cross also got involved in helping migrants in Serbia.  We distributed 600,000 ration packs at both entry and exit points in the country, as well as along their journey through the country,” said Mr Radovanović.

He also spoke about the fact that the Red Cross conducts 12 educational programmes for citizens such as supporting seniors, blood donation, combating school violence and anti-trafficking programme, which is of particular interest to school children.
