On 6 October, the Embassy of Finland organised a meeting for Team Finland member companies and other partners at the Residence of Ambassador Pertti Ikonen.
On the agenda were the plans for Suomi Finland 100 the celebratory year 2017. Finland became an independent state on 6 December 1917, and the centenary of Finland’s independence will be the most significant commemorative year for this generation of Finns.
Suomi Finland 100 will be the running theme of the Embassy’s events and activities in 2017, and Team Finland activities will be planned accordingly. Suomi Finland 100 events will be held throughout the year and include, for example, Nordic Glass Exhibition in Belgrade and Novi Sad as well as the performance of Finnish dance group Tero Saarinen Company at the Belgrade Dance Festival in April. The presence of Team Finland member companies and partners will be demonstrated in the events.
In the Team Finland meeting, the Embassy’s representatives Ambassador Ikonen, Deputy Head of Mission and Team Finland Coordinator Päivi Alatalo and Economic Adviser Igor Madzarević presented plans for upcoming events and activities. In addition, representatives of I&F McCann Grupa Vanda Kučera and Nenad Milić presented their company’s activities.
