Nordic Days 2016 was organised in Sarajevo, Bosnia & Herzegovina, 19-21 May, by the Embassies of Denmark, Norway, Sweden and Finland.
“It is our great pleasure to be here today, alongside colleagues from the other Nordic countries. All of our countries greatly benefit from our regional cooperation and we are honoured that together we are able to present you with the Nordic approach to sustainability and equity.“, said Mr Morten Skovgaard Hansen, Head of Mission of Denmark Embassy.
The contribution of Denmark joint project “Nordic Days” consists of seminars on resources, specifically energy and water as well as an exhibition on sustainable urban solutions from Copenhagen.
Sustainability and equality – areas in which Denmark, Norway, Finland and Sweden are pioneers – was the focus for the Nordic Days. Sustainable development at both local and global levels is an important challenge for contemporary society. Common resources must be used more efficiently and effectively. Furthermore, this can be achieved only with the equal participation of both men and women, on an equal footing – bringing questions related to equality to the core.
The Nordic countries have some clear innovative approaches and solutions that they wish to share. We should all engage responsibly in the preservation and sustainable use of our common global resources.
The Nordic Days showcased some examples and best practices with respect to equality between women and men and sustainable solutions for cities and in fashion.
