British ambassador to Serbia Denis Keefe held a reception at his residence celebrating Queen Elizabeth II’s 91st birthday which falls together with the 180th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Great Britain and the Republic of Serbia.
“Diplomatic relations between Serbia and Great Britain have lasted since 1837 when the first British diplomat submitted his letter of accreditation to the then Knjaz. This was even before Serbia had established full sovereignty, which demonstrates the deep and lasting friendship between our countries, which will continue in future”, said the ambassador.
The celebration was attended by government officials, the diplomatic corps, religious leaders and many guests from public life.
