A gathering organised by the Delegation of German Industry and Commerce in Serbia (DSW) and the Federal Ministry of Economy and Energy of the Republic of Germany saw leading experts from Germany and Serbia provided with the opportunity to speak on the topic of renewable energy.
Representatives of German companies, including Ekcentec, AP Bioenergietechnik, Strawterm, Vecoplan and New eco-tech Verfahrenstechnik, familiarised hosts with the latest technologies in this field, while Serbian representatives informed their guests from Germany about the situation on the local market.
The main topic was the use of biomass and biogas as sources of renewable energy, which is insufficiently utilised in Serbia.
“Biomass has a share of 64 per cent of the total technical potential of renewable energy sources in Serbia and represents the equivalent of 3.4 million tonnes of oil, while the utilisation of biomass is quite high, at 66.7%, while the potential of agricultural biomass is used almost marginally, at about two per cent,” explained Martin Knapp, director of DSW in Serbia.
