A day prior to the opening of the 4th International Conference and Fair “New Technologies in Education”, a meeting was held to discuss the systemic solutions necessary in order for new technologies to become part of the education process.

The meeting also saw Mladen Šarčević, Serbian Minister of Education, Science and Technological Development, and Claire Sears, Director of the British Council, sign a Memorandum of Understanding aimed at strengthening future cooperation.

UK Ambassador H.E. Denis Keefe spoke about the importance of overcoming the digital divide and programmes being implemented jointly by the British Embassy, the British Council and the Serbian Ministry of Education, Science and Technological Development.

“In the last four years, more than 10,000 people participated in these programmes of ours, with over 200,000 people using our digital content,” said Ambassador Keefe.

The meeting was also attended by education ministers from throughout the region.
