The main organiser of the conference was the Belt and Road Institute, formed by the Serbian government, Serbian Chamber of Commerce and Novi Sad University, which will include many companies and universities from the member countries of the Road and Belt Initiative.

The speakers at the conference, themed “Sustainability of Common Future”, were Minister of Construction, Transport and Infrastructure Tomislav Momirovic, Secretary-General of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia Veljko Odalovic, Deputy Director-General of the Department of Foreign Affairs of Zhejiang Province Chen Yanqing and Vice President of the People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries of the Office of Foreign Affairs of Fujian Province Luo Guansheng.

The one-day panel discussion was attended by experts from Kenya, Italy, Bulgaria, Hungary, Malaysia, Morocco, Uzbekistan, Russia, Slovenia, People’s Republic of China and Serbia, which are member countries of the initiative. The experts have given, with their conclusions from today, an important contribution to the planning of a common, sustainable future.

The speakers discussed Agenda 2030 and the UN Sustainable Development Goals, as well as other important topics for boosting international development.

Sustainability is reflected in all segments of our existence and is a measure of our ability not to disturb natural flows.

In accordance with the current pandemic restrictions, participants and listeners who could not attend the think tank panel in Belgrade had the possibility to attend it online, via an active link.

The common vision of all member states, as well as mutual cooperation and connectivity at the economic, cultural, academic and political levels, are key to the growth and development of all nations.

In order to maintain the growing trend of progress, it is necessary to constantly strengthen the mechanisms of cooperation and promotion of the results achieved.
