Today, Head of the European Union Delegation to Serbia Emanuele Giaufret handed over the keys to 26 specialized vehicles for transporting vaccines and medical staff to the Minister for European Integration Jadranka Joksimovic and Minister of Health Zlatibor Loncar.
The mentioned vehicles, whose value is more than half a million euros, are a donation from the EU, and the ceremonial handover was attended by President of the Republic of Serbia Aleksandar Vucic.
Vucic expressed gratitude to the EU for the donation and the allocated funds, emphasising that the new vehicles solve the problem of faster distribution of vaccines.
Giaufret said that the EU will continue to work with Serbia in the fight against this pandemic, because we cannot win it individually, without cooperation and coordination, adding that the vehicles, after the pandemic, remain for use by the Serbian health system.
Vehicles for the transport of vaccines and medical staff were procured with IPA 2020 funds through the EU Local Development Project (EU PRO PLUS) implemented by the United Nations Office for Project Services.
