President Aleksandar Vucic welcomed at the “Nikola Tesla” Airport German Chancellor Angela Merkel, who will pay a two-day official visit to Serbia.

The delegation that welcomed the Chancellor also includes Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany to Serbia Thomas Schieb and Ambassador of Serbia to Germany Snezana Jankovic.

The plane on which the Chancellor arrived was escorted by Serbian Army planes, which took over care of Merkel’s security upon entering our airspace.

The President of Serbia prepared a solemn reception in front of the Palace of Serbia for the German Chancellor, along with the lined up Guard, the intonation of the anthems of the two countries and the firing of honorary platoons.

As part of the reception, the German Chancellor greeted the Prime Minister Ana Brnabic and some members of the government of Serbia.

The solemn ceremony will be followed by a tete-a-tete meeting of the two officials, after which Vucic and Merkel will visit the exhibition in the Palace of Serbia and then hold a press conference.
