Minister for European Integration Jadranka Joksimovic received today a donation from Slovakia worth €97,000 from Minister of Foreign and European Affairs of the Slovak Republic Ivan Korcok.
The donation contains PCR tests, protective clothing for medical workers, hygiene kits and electricity generators, and is intended for the University Clinical Centre of Serbia.
Joksimovic expressed her gratitude to Korcok for the significant donation, emphasising that Serbia is one of the leading countries in the world in immunising its citizens, and added that this type of help is of great importance.
The Minister said that Serbia highly appreciates the fact that Slovakia is not only a sincere and consistent advocate of the EU enlargement policy, but also the fact that it fundamentally supports our country’s commitment to normalising relations with Pristina, while achieving a solution acceptable to all.
Korcok pointed out that Slovakia, as a political and economic partner of Serbia, where there is a large Slovak national minority as a special bridge of cooperation, wants to provide assistance as a gesture of great friendship and solidarity.
The COVID-19 pandemic also resulted in unfavourable circumstances for the EU enlargement policy.
“I am convinced that this year, Serbia will continue to implement reforms that are crucial for the process of European integration, and in that, Serbia will continue to have the full support of the government of Slovakia,” Korcok said.
