Expanding production and focusing on export remain among Philip Morris’s strategic priorities
Philip Morris more than doubled export last year, while our export has increased fifteen-fold compared to five years ago. Back in 2010, we exported to just three countries, while by year’s end 2015 the products produced at our Niš factory were sold in over 60 countries.
We achieved the best results ever in this segment last year and, in line with our plans and current results, we will be far more successful this year. In the first two months of 2016, our export increased by 44 per cent compared to the same period in 2015, while we have been exporting to three more countries since the beginning of this year.
Record export is a result of record production, which increased by 60 per cent, while the number of our employees increased by 200. If the demand for greater export and production continues to grow, we will continue expanding our capacity by installing new machinery, resulting in the hiring of more workers.
Apart from the expansion of our exports, this year will be marked by an organisational change following the repositioning of the Serbian branch of Philip Morris as the regional centre entrusted with managing all SE markets
Apart from the expansion of our exports, this year will also be marked by an organisational change following the repositioning of the Serbian branch of Philip Morris as the regional centre entrusted with managing all Southeast European markets.
Our success is and will continue to be, useful not only to our company in Serbia, its employees and suppliers but also to society as a whole and the state budget. Philip Morris’s tax contribution to the Serbian budget stands at over five per cent.
